We have finally launched our Great Lakes Bay News website where we will talk about Good News in the Valley, please read more about it:
In early 2009 Rob Garpiel II, President of Garpiel Landscaping, became tired by all of the doom and gloom being reported locally and nationally. Frustrated by this imbalance of negative news, Rob decided to take action. He set out to promote the Great Lakes Bay Region which consists of the Bay, Midland, and Saginaw counties in Michigan.
Garpiel already knew of many local successful businesses that were doing good things in the region and he just needed to find a way to share the news. Rob’s plan was simple, gather all of the good news generated in the Great Lakes Bay Region, and share it with everyone without a cost. To help with this endeavor Garpiel reached out to Catholic Federal Credit Union, WHNN 96.1, and XO Communications and was able to put together a complete strategy for submitting and distributing all the good news.
In the spring of 2010, GreatLakesBayNews.org was created to communicate the good news in the region. The website allows companies and organizations in and around the Great Lakes Bay Region to submit their good news and receive free advertising. Once the good news is accepted the story is posted on the website, Twitter, and Facebook for everyone to read. In addition, select stories will be reported on-air through WHNN 96.1.
The Great Lakes Bay Region has its share of challenges, but there are many good things going on too. We need to focus on the good and think positively about our future, and together we will succeed!
